If you do word searches in the KJV and any of these other Bibles (like "atonement"), you will find a tendency away from standard doctrinal terms, and in their place, "explanations," which belong in commentaries, and not in our daily consulted Bible for listening to sermons and daily devotions. 2 Cor 5:8 teaches us that for the believer, there is an absence from the body at death which immediately places us with the Lord. The true believer will never leave the presence of God from that point on, and he will not return to earth until Jesus comes for his saints in the rapture.
